Lisa Bajorinas, executive director for Kentucky's Innovation Hubs on behalf of KSTC recently spoke with reporter Stephen Schmidt at KY Inno about the statewide trends for women in entrepreneurship as part of Women's Business Week.

Bajorinas shared that the outlook is bright for women entrepreneurs in Kentucky, citing that in Kentucky, 40.6% of businesses are owned by women. She also noted that the commonwealth has increased focus on supporting women entrepreneurs through entrepreneurial support organizations and accelerators.

"Kentucky’s overall climate for female founders is improving." Bajorinas said. "There’s increased awareness of the challenges and more call to action to improve our support of female founders, all of which is boosted by Kentucky ranking high for its women-led startup survival rate (PitchBook reports a 79.1% startup survival rate)."
