Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation Names New Board Members

The Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC) named two new members to its Board of Directors on July 1, 2024. KSTC’s Board of Directors are volunteers comprised of leaders from Kentucky’s business, education, innovation and economic development communities. Members represent all regions of Kentucky and support KSTC in advancing innovative economic development across the Commonwealth.


New members include:

This year, KSTC is also recognizing the service of longtime Board Member and outgoing Board Chair Mark Kristy, formerly of PricewaterhouseCoopers who concluded his service on June 30, 2024. Mark first joined the board in 1995 and has served in multiple roles during his tenure.


Also leaving the board on June 30 is Board Member Angelica Vega who is leaving the region for a new career opportunity in Washington, DC. We thank both Mark and Angelica for their dedication and wish them all the best!

It is inspiring to see the collaboration between experts representing all areas of the Commonwealth for the purpose of seeing Kentucky’s innovation-based economy thrive.”

Meet the new KSTC Board Members:


Jonathan Raymon – Baird Trust

Jonathan Raymon

Jonathan is a Senior Vice President and Charitable Solutions Strategist for Baird Trust. He provides trust administration and client service, focusing on charitable trusts and charitable organizations. He has 11 years of experience in the investment industry and holds the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designations. Jonathan is a member of the American, Kentucky, and Louisville Bar Associations and a member of the Taxation Section of the Louisville Bar Association, previously serving as Chair.


Jonathan spent twelve years with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, where he worked as a Faculty Manager, and one year with the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel as a Legal Intern. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Loras College, a master’s from University of Houston, and a J.D. from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law. He is President of the Estate Planning Council of Metro Louisville and has served on several boards of local non-profits and actively volunteers for others. Jonathan joined Baird in 2012.


Will Metcalf - University of Louisville

Will Metcalf

Will Metcalf is an Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation at the University of Louisville (UofL) and a Professor in the Brandeis School of Law, where he is the Director of the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic. Will leads research development at UofL that has led to record-breaking research and service awards to UofL and helped UofL embrace an institutional culture of innovation, which has earned UofL a reputation as a national leader in this area.


He has been the principal investigator on more than $5M in awards and is a leader of UofL’s National Science Foundation I-Corps award, focused on technology-based product development and entrepreneurship. Additionally, Will has launched multiple tech-backed ventures, published in law journals on the intersection of technology and the law, and presented to numerous conferences. He holds a Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In his free time, Will and his wife enjoy spending time with their three children.
